[Virtual externship through Extern] Sep to Nov 2025
Breaking Games Data Analysis
Compared store traffic by source. Google visitors converted well, while Facebook visitors had a high bounce rate and almost no conversions.
In a virtual externship through Extern, I worked with Breaking Games' online store data to see which traffic sources brought real buyers. I cleaned the data, calculated bounce and conversion rates, and compared this year to last year.

- [When]
- Sep to Nov 2025
- [Data]
- Breaking Games online store data by traffic source, Jan to Jul 2025 vs the year before
- [Tools]
- Google Sheets and Excel (cleaning data, calculating bounce and conversion rates)
What I did.
Traced a real purchase funnel
To start, I mapped my own purchase of a habit tracking app, from first ad to yearly subscription. I saw repeated TikTok ads, tried the free app, then bought during a limited time offer of $20 a year.
Cleaned and compared channel data
I cleaned raw store data from January to July 2025, calculated bounce and conversion rates for each traffic source and landing page, and compared them to the year before. See the channel data sheet
What I found.
Google brought higher quality traffic that converted well. Facebook had a high bounce rate and almost no conversions.
Extern externships are remote projects done for real companies.
